Polytene chromosomes

b) Photographs of the of the entire An. gambiae polytene chromosomes from half-gravid females (courtesy of Drs. Vasantha Kumar and Anthony Cornel) as individual GIF images by clicking on the thumbnails below. These are low resolution (100 dpi) images that can also be downloaded, to be viewed under higher resolution. For this, you can download a large file (All_300.hqx or All_300.tar.gz) that includes the picture of all three chromosomes. This file contains a 300 dpi scan of the original figure. It is a self-extractable archive containing a Photoshop 3.0 TIFF file.

Cave: Due to its size (~6.6 Mb) you may encounter problems in obtaining a usable file through the net. You can ask for the original prints by sending an e-mail message to Frank Collins.
